Greetings Parents & Caregivers;
Before school start-up this morning, a strong “gas smell” was reported in the Art room. We are keeping students outside in the playground area. Fortis is not able to get a technician on site for another hour.
We have decided to close the school for the day. Here is the procedure for picking up your child(ren):
• Parents/Caregivers can report to the Outdoor Indigenous Structure (the large wooden building) on the school field.
• Ms Kim Stacey will send a runner to collect your child(ren). Please do not leave until she has confirmed that you have your child(ren).
Please do not call the school. There is no one in the building. Ms Stacey’s cell phone will be busy as she will be calling parents throughout the morning.
We are fortunate to have a clear day with relatively warm weather. We also have access to the “blue building” if needed (for students that get cold, or need to use the washroom).
We have followed this procedure in the past, and normally students have been transitioned back to home within an hour. Please be patient with us as we work to ensure our students are all accounted for and returned safely.
I will post updates via email and on our school website as we progress with transitioning students from school to home.
