Hudson’s Hope School: A Family School
Hudson’s Hope Elementary-Secondary School is located in the beautiful village of Hudson’s Hope, nestled in the Peace River Valley, with the mighty Peace River within walking distance. The school itself is quite new, relocated from Cassiar, B.C. in 1993 (it officially opened on November 15th, 1994). H.H.E.S.S. is a very unique school, providing high quality education to students ranging from StrongStart to Grade Twelve. Each year Graduation Ceremonies for Grade 12 students take place in the gymnasium of the school, which includes a “Social”, during which we reflect on memories and successes, as well as the Graduation Ceremony itself. The graduation ceremony is a proud moment for our graduates, parents, and community members. It also highlights the closeness of the small, supportive community of Hudson’s Hope.
The basis for Hudson’s Hope School’s Code of Conduct is H.A.W.K.S. Helpful Appreciative Willing Kind and Supportive. The school motto is Above and Beyond. Hudson’s Hope School’s Code of Conduct and School Motto have been developed with feedback and support from students, parents and staff in 2007.
The Elementary wing of the school includes five classrooms for grades StrongStart through six. Elementary students enjoy a wide variety of activities, equipment, and facilities while attending school. Two playgrounds (one built with funds raised by our local P.A.C.), tetherballs, tire-swings, swings, and a very large field are just a few of the facilities for our approximately 70 elementary students.
The secondary wing of the school includes classrooms for Food Preparation programs, Woodwork, Small Engines, Fine Arts, Equine Studies/Natural Horsemanship, Technology, French Language, Senior Science/Math/Social Studies.
