]]> Thank you to all the parents & community members who were able to join us this morning on short notice.  We will be having a “Gratitude Assembly” next Wednesday at 9:10am.  This assembly will include presentation from our students (similar to the presentations that took place today), as well as some other celebrations, and a presentation from a local veteran.  You are very welcome to join us.  Below are a few quick pictures.  I will send out some better photos next week (this morning was a little tricky dealing with the power outage).

We are experiencing a power outage at the school.  We do have lighting and some power in our secondary foyer.  I’m using my cellphone “hotspot” and battery on my computer to send out this message.
The phones will not work at the school.  My cell # is 250-783-3044 if you HAVE to call me.  Ms Stacey 250-783-1040
Since we need a way to look after the entire school in essentially one or two spaces that have light, we will start the day with our Remembrance Day assembly (if you were planning on coming to the ceremony at 10:40, my apologies..you’re welcome to head to the school right away if that’s feasible for you).  I will try to make sure some pictures are taken of students presenting.
Once we get an update of an expected time for power to be back up, we will make a decision of whether or not to keep the school open.
Please be near your phones/devices, and check email/facebook this morning for the next update.  I will be busy running the assembly until about 9:00.

7:00 – Clean up time.
• A reminder that this Friday is our “School Planning Day”.  School is not in session for students.

Halle Beebe volunteered to participate and help with the water station all day.  Mr. Laidlaw, as well as Rene were staffmembers voted by students to be “dunked”, and were keen participants.  Finally, great work to all of our staff for all of your efforts to ensure the different stations were fun!  Go HAWKS Go!  A few quick pics below:

]]> Greetings Parents & Caregivers;

Our elementary staff met after school, and we have decided to run the H Note Fun Day tomorrow (Tuesday) due to the weather forecast (it’s supposed to be a reasonably nice day tomorrow, but rainy on Wednesday).  It’s really important to have nice weather for this day.

The planned activities are the same (see previous message below).

Shona will be the bus driver for the grade 4-6 students (they will be going to Dinosaur Lake for morning activities & picnic lunch).  We are not sending home travel consent forms for this short-distance field trip.  If you have a concern regarding travel, please contact me.

Please see the previously emailed information below so your child is prepped for tomorrow:

Greetings parents,

Wednesday TUESDAY is our fun day.  All of the elementary students will participate in various activities.  The kindergarten to grade 3 will rotate through centres in the morning (9:15 to 11:45), and grades 4 to 6 will go to Dinosaur Lake and have a picnic lunch.  In the afternoon, the kindergarten to grade 3s will play at Beattie Park, and grades 4 to 6 will rotate through the centers.  Students may want to wear swimsuits for their centres as there is waterplay; or clothes they do not mind getting wet.  Either way, please send a change of clothes to ensure they are dry and comfortable afterwards. 

You are welcome to join us during any part of the day.

The activities include:

  • Art
  • Water play
  • Outdoor building and games
  • Bubbles and chalk
  • Dunk tank (students are not going in the dunk tank…they are “dunking” some adults.).
